Darsteller: Zac Efron, Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton, Jackie Earle Haley, Marcia Gay Harden, Ron Livingston, Colin Hanks, Tom Welling, Gil Bellows, ua.

Thanks to bm_shipper for making me aware of it. Parkland will hit Germany as directtoTV-movie, it will not come to the theatres (exception rules :D). But with that, all German speaking Grimmsters, who want to watch, can watch this awesome movie as FreeTV premiere on November, 22nd, 8.15 pm.

The movie is based on the assassination of JFK on November, 22nd, 1963 in Dallas (TX). But it's not telling the well known story of the prominent people involved but the ones who were hit as casuality, the doctors, agents and witnesses of the assassination. Also an important part of the movie is what happened with Lee Harvey Oswald's brother Robert.

Bitsie Tulloch's character is Marilyn, a secretary for Abraham Zapruder, the man who had the misfortune to film the complete shooting.

Parkland is starring: Zac Efron, Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton, Jacie Earle Haley, Marcia Gay Harden, Ron Livingston, Colin Hanks, Tom Welling, Gil Bellows ao.

I'll definitely watch this ♥ Especially after everything you told me about this movie. It sounds completely awesome and I really am looking forward to this... and there are quite some actors in it I really like, like Colin Hanks :)

You definitely should, it's really a good movie. I really don't understand why it's not on the theatres over here. In UK and France it is. Weird!

Maybe because it's actually the death day of JFK and so it kind of "fits"? I don't really know either, though... Just guessing here, since obviously on this day there are at least 3 other movies about JFK airing!

JFK's death was confirmed an hour after he was shot, and that was both around noon or early afternoon US. It were pretty busy 3 days in November back then with the assassination of JFK, the manhunt for Oswald, until Oswald was shot to death by Ruby.
The best scenes of the movie, I think, are about what happened after the confirmation of JFK's death until the AirForceOne starts back to DC. Landesman has caught perfectly the chaos and the disbelief everyone must have felt back then.

Yeah, I can imagine that. I've bought "TV Digital" today and they have a "report" about the movie and another one called "killing jFK" and said that Parkland is "better" or at least more interesting, because the first shot falls after like 5 minutes, so I'm really looking forward to see it :)

The shooting is over pretty fast, it's more within the first 3 or 4 minutes. And, as far as I can say that, it's the only flaw Parkland has. I know a lot of the original photos and films from that day. Zapruder and Marilyn were standing there, but they weren't the only ones up there at the monument. In Parkland they are all alone up there, no one crosses the screen what was impossible after everyone was running down to the street after the shooting. But I can live with that little flaw as Bitsie and Paul Giamatti are working perfectly together in that scene. It only makes you wonder because Landesman also uses original material from others (the Zapruder-movie is, I think, first shown after they fixed the film) and you see how crowded it was, next scene you see Bitsie and Paul all alone up there.

Ah, okay... sounds definitely interesting, yes. I have to admit, I don't know THAT much anymore and it's been a while since I've seen the "original" videos and such, but I will definitely pay a closer attention to that now! :)

As I'd said before, I've seen and read a lot of stuff about the Era Kennedy. A little weird, I know.
